A busy autumn schedule coming up….. So, first up:
24th September 6.30pm – The Portait Players at Hampstead Lane
Claire (soprano), Kristiina (theorbo/lute) and Miriam (cello/viol da gamba) love playing the music from the 17th and 18th centuries but they are also fascinated by the brilliant creative women who were the inspiration for so much of it. In their programme they introduce us to many of these women and the songs they inspired. Followed by a 18th century supper.

Sunday 29th September 12 noon – Highgate – 10a South Grove
Highgate Society Sunday Lunchtime concerts are delighted to welcome back the Lior Solomons Wise Trio – Lior (on piano), Jonah (on drums) and Ed (on bass) for another delightful jam session. They will be playing old jazz favourites but also some of their own compositions.

Monday 4th November 6.30pm – Hampstead Lane
The Kyan Quartet hail from Los Angeles, China, Paris – and London. And their choice of programme reflects their diverse backgrounds: Peter Warlock, Sun Keting, Caroline Shaw and Clause Debussy.

Thursday 7th November 6pm – Highgate Rush Hour concert
London launch of William Jack’s This Old Cello Box Vol 2 – just premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe. ‘An album rich in traditions, but not encumbered by them, the music transitions seamlessly from virtuosic folk & bluegrass to non-Western sound worlds.‘

Wednesday 27th November 6.30pm – Hampstead Lane
Shirley Smart and Tobie Medland – Kodaly meets jazz and improv. Highgate ‘regular’ cellist Shirley Smart is joined by violinist Tobie Medland for an exciting programme which includes Zoltán Kodály’s Duo for Violin and Cello along with both classical and contemporary jazz works.
