First ……
Have you booked for Shirley and and Peter’s jam session on Sunday 26th – 12 noon at 10a South Grove as usual for a glass of Bucks Fizz and some cool jazz? You can book here – or pay on the door – only £15
And then……
Have you booked for our oud concert at 6pm on December 1st with Rihab Azar – to launch Khulood’s exhibition? If not you can book here – £15 to include wine and snacks – or pay on the door.
Check in to YouTube to hear Rihab playing at the East Neuk Festival last year.
Those of you who have been in the Hampstead Lane garden may remember these charming peace doves at the bottom of the steps. They are Khulood’s work – as is this piece called Wherever you turned your dream which is to be found on the bookshelves in the ‘concert area’.
Khulood works with a charity in Baghdad which teaches art and design technology to children displaced and traumatised by the years of conflict in their country. To raise money for them each year she holds a Christmas fair and exhibition at which she sells not only her bigger works but smaller pieces designed to make attractive Christmas gifts: T-shirts, prints, small cuneiform tablets and hand printed scarves. To see more of Khulood’s work check in to her website.
This year’s exhibition will be at Hampstead Lane open from 2pm on Friday to 5pm on Saturday.
To book for the concert on Friday evening go here – £15 to include wine and snacks – or pay at the door.
And then – in January….
We are delighted that on January 21st our good friend and neighbour in Crouch End, Dame Emma Kirkby and renowned lutanist Jakob Lindberg will be joining us to play and sing lute songs and solos by John Dowland and others – in a programme called TIME STANDS STILL.
JANE DEAN says
Hello Michelle, I will make every effort to join the concert on January 21st.
Michelle Berridale Johnson says
That would indeed be lovely Jane! Do book early though as we can only fit 25 and I suspect there will be a lot of takers. Fingers crossed!
