Starting on Thursday is a veritable feast of quartets, all part of the Islington festival organised by Joana Ly (of the Corran quartet who played for us at the Highgate Festival last month) and Martin André.
Christ Church Highbury will be hosting four evening concerts showcasing the chamber music of Franz Schubert, kicking off on Thursday at 7pm with the Trout quintet.
Friday evening will feature the 7 Songs from ‘Die schöne Müllerin’ (along with some Beethoven and Mahler).
On Saturday the Arpeggione Sonata for viola and piano, D821 and Fantasie in F for piano 4 hands, D940 and on Sunday the String quartet in C, D956 but it looks as though you might be queuing for returns on Saturday and Sunday.
Meanwhile, the Newington Green Meeting House is in action from 10-11 for late night Bach and Beer!
Check in here for Thursday night (flute and theorbo) and here for Friday night (the Wren consort).
On Saturday night Bach and Beer (solo baroque violin) moves to NO 20 ARTS and on Sunday night it finishes at the Old Queen’s Head (lutes and baroque vioin).
Meanwhile, during the day the Meeting House will have been hosting figurative drawing classes, a session with a luthier and an abstract drawing class with live music.
And, as if that all was not enough, on Friday at 1pm you can check in to Favourite miniature pieces for the violin and piano at the South Arcade at Islington Square. At the same location on Saturday the Emigré Cabaret and on Sunday, a Jazz Duo.
Let us all hope that the weather stays fine while we all beetle from one exciting event to the next!
