Walking back across the heath this evening checking the storm casualties of the last few days (of which more anon), I found myself following a guy lugging double bass…. Really? But a little further on I discovered where he had been going.
To join a small group of jazz musicians who, for the last month, have been gathering at a log just above sports field in the middle of East Heath for informal jam sessions. So I stayed to listen…..
(If you want to see the video and hear their music you will need to click onto the blog as the email notification does not include the video.)
For any jazz loving Hampstead/Highgate residents, Louise and her friends play every Thursday and Sunday from 1pm onwards. For more details log into Louise’s site or check out her Instagram page.
Now I am wondering whether, after the success of our garden concert last week (that I have yet to tell you about) I might be able to tempt Louise and her group up to Hampstead Lane for a little concert in the garden. Assuming that we ever get any suitable weather again. Watch this space…
Also to come…. Stunning, if soggy, gardens at Cothay Manor and Mapperton House in Dorset.
