The first of the Highgate Society’s Sunday lunchtime concerts kicks off on Sunday week – March 20th – with Sol Grimshaw and his group of Gypsy Jazzers.
There is so much good ‘serious’ music going on in Highgate at the moment that the society thought that a glass of Bucks Fizz and something a little more light hearted might be just the thing to give a lift to your Sunday lunch – and would be a great way to make use of the newly refurbished hall at 10A.
So off we go on the 20th March with Sol and his group – all graduate students at the Guildhall School of Music where I heard them playing in a GSMD Jazz fest a few months ago. And very fine they were too.
If you fancy joining us, tickets are only £15 (to include the Bucks Fizz) but you do need to buy them in advance as they will not be available on the door.
Doors open at 12 noon – for drinks and 45 minutes of gypsy jazz classics and tunes from the Great American Songbook!
Meanwhile, bookmark you diary – lined up for the May 22nd – Viennese café music!
