We are very sorry to have to tell you that Richard Egarr is unwell and has had to pull out of Saturday’s concert of Schubert Sonatinas with Sijie Chen. Anyone who had bought tickets will have them refunded in due course.
Richard and Susie were due to play the sonatinas again on Sunday at 3pm at Burgh House in Hampstead.
By a great stroke of luck Russian pianist, harpsichordist and conductor Maxim Emelyanychev will be able to step in to take Richard’s place on Sunday. Maxim is ‘an effervescent, spontaneous musician whose recent chamber collaborations have included Joyce DiDonato at the Wigmore Hall and Patricia Kopatchinskaja in the Berlin Konzerthaus. Maxim can also be found conducting orchestras – he holds the principal conductor positions in the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and Il Pomo d’Oro, and regularly directs the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment’.
