Last call for Highgate Festival concerts

The festival is now in full swing – and what a fabulous week for it!

I am off to the Tale of Two Governesses tonight celebrating the career of soprano Jennifer Vyvyan for whom Benjamin Britten created the role of the governess in The Turn of the Screw – and whose family live in Highgate!

Meanwhile last minute bookings still available for our two concerts in the Highgate School chapel – although we will be selling tickets on the door – where you can also pick up your free glass of wine!

Thursday 16th – 6.30pm at the Highgate School Chapel

Balladeste – Preetha Narayanan (violin) and Tara Franks (cello).  Combining contemporary minimalism, Indian classical and folk, they will be playing all original repertoire from their albums ‘Relic’ and ‘Beyond Breath’.
Book here – £20 to include a free glass of wine

18th June – 1pm at the Highgate School Chapel

Viola recital with Charles Bodman Whittacker and Roy Howat at the piano. To include, Brahms, Frank Bridges and the UK premier of a piece by French composer Eric Tanguy.
Book here – £20 to include a free glass of Bucks Fizz

Highgate Society Sunday Lunchtime concert

And then on Sunday the Highgate Society is having a special festival lunchtime concert with Highgate residents, The Reliables!

19th June – 12noon at 10a South Grove
Book here – £15 to include a free glass of Bucks fizz
